Calculating the odds isn’t hard at all if you know these two steps. Start off by dividing the number 36 by the total number of squares that your bet covers. After that, subtract one from that result and you will get the payout rate of the bet.
For example, a straight-up bet will cover one number only, so you should divide 36 by 1 to get 36. Then you subtract 1 to get 35. This way you know that the payout rate for a straight-up bet is 35:1. So if you bet €10 on a straight-up bet then your win will be €350.

The Snake Bet
The inside and outside bets are the main ones but there’s another type of bet that is considered to be an outside bet. This is the ‘snake’ bet and is only available in certain roulette variations. The snake bet covers the red numbers 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32 and 34, creating the shape of a snake.
Announced Bets
The announced bets are special betting combinations most commonly featured in European Roulette. Players will inform the dealer verbally on their preferred numbers while putting the money on the table. This mustn’t be confused with the called bet. When a player makes a called bet, they aren’t required to place chips on the betting table. This practice is very rare and illegal in many countries.
