Forget everything you think you know about Turning Totems online slot from Thunderkick Gaming. Slot aficionados may be aware that Turning Totems was actually realised a few years back to a less than positive reception, except that is for the stunning graphics. In unusual move for an online slot designer, they decommissioned the old game and totally revamped it with a brand new game engine and sets of bonuses and features, with only thing to survive the designers red pen intact being the handsome graphics.
In its new format, Turning Totems has a five-reel, three-row layout with 11 paylines, which pay both ways, and is set against the familiar desert landscape backdrop and the totem pole design of the reel set that we saw in the original game. The minimum bet £0.10 and the maximum bet is a cool £100 per spin, and the maximum possible win is 998x your unit stake.
In the bonus games everything revolves around the so-called ‘Thunder Reels’; whenever a purple snake symbol appears anywhere on the reels, it will turn the whole reel into a Thunder Reel which is in essence a stacked wild. Trigger three Thunder Reels in a row and you’ll be rewarded with five three spins with the three Thunder Reels active for the duration.
The latest incarnation of Turning Totems is head and shoulders above the original online slot, not least because of the thrilling Thunder Reels component to it, and it is now worthy of the beautiful graphics that adorn this game.
